Sandra Rodriguez, MSW has spent her career building the relationships that help families and communities thrive. A certified Promotora (Community Health Worker) Training Facilitator, she has more than five years of experience training and supporting Promotoras through Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center and the federally funded Hayward Promise Neighborhood initiative.
The Hayward Promise Neighborhood was modeled on Geoffrey Canada’s Harlem Children’s Zone approach, bringing schools, families, health services, and community organizations together around the success of children and families. Through her work with HPN, Sandra saw firsthand how trained, trusted community health workers could strengthen communication, mobilize families, and build stronger connections between schools and the communities they serve.
That experience shaped the Parent Ambassador Academy.
Sandra believes family engagement is not a one-time event or a short-term training. It is a relationship built throughout the school year. When parents and staff learn together, practice together, and work toward shared goals, parent participation can grow into meaningful leadership and lasting partnership.
That is the foundation of ResolvED Education—and the work of the Parent Ambassador Academy.
